In the late nineteenth century, the city of Norwich, CT became a mecca for American croquet and the annual site of the championship
of the National American Croquet Association. Norwich fielded the national champions in both 1882 and 1886.
In
1899 when the leading figures in the American game decided to revise and revitalize their rules - they gathered in Norwich
to do just that.
The Norwich Croquet Company honors that heritage by offering the 1899 Rose City Rules line of professional-quality
croquet equipment.
