In the late nineteenth century, the city of Norwich, CT became a Mecca for the game of American croquet and the annual site of the championship of the National American Croquet Association. Norwich fielded the national champions in 1882 and 1886.
In 1899, when the leading figures in the American game decided to revise and revitalize the rules of the game - they gathered in Norwich to do so.
The Norwich Croquet Company honors that heritage by offering the the 1899 Rose City Rules line of professional-quality croquet equipment.
